Communication I: Assertiveness

  • Gain awareness of different levels of communication within a conversation
  • Practice to intervene and steer the conversation
  • Practice how to deal with conversations that get stuck

Communication II: Convincing others

  • Understand the link between the stance of a counterpart, and the optimum influencing approach
  • Recognize attitude and stance of a conversation counterpart
  • Practice to actively switch between influencing approaches to reach the desired outcome

Communication III: Empathy & Confidence in play

  • Become more aware of what drives empathy and recognizing (non)-verbal communication
  • Practice is showing and addressing emotions
  • Learn to feel more comfortable when reacting spontaneously in order to engage more effectively

The Dev Track will provide the developers of your organization with a solid foundation of today’s core soft skills that can help in the years to come. We will teach them to get their ideas across by adapting their communication approach and style, becoming more sensible and comfortable in expressing themselves in a clear manner, and applying empathy. This will be done by practicing spontaneous engagements for more effectiveness, recognizing and understanding the attitude and stance of a conversation along with its counterparts, and discovering and practicing how to deal with conversations when it gets stuck.

Taking ownership

  • Practice to plan projects in logical steps, milestones and take dependencies into consideration 
  • Assess the optimal role for the stakeholders in projects and involve them accordingly

Actionable communication

  • Learn to structure your message and include a clear call-to-action
  • Practice conveying only key messages needed for impact 
  • Practice to tailor a message to the audience and goal

Time management - prioritizing

  • Understand the concept of urgent vs. important, and how this can impact priorities
  • Practice how to schedule, plan and prioritise

Feedback for growth

  • Learn to use examples of behavior & impact to illustrate feedback
  • Learn how to use critical feedback to modify behavior and practice engaging in constructive discussions
  • Discuss the importance of ongoing (frequent and informal) feedback

Personality profiling

  • Become aware of one’s own strengths
  • Learn the importance of reflection to recognize areas of improvement
  • Be stimulated to actively try out new things to accelerate personal development
