Plan a meetingEqual opportunities for women
Did you know that only 18% of people working in tech are women, with a widening gender inequality gap and a missed opportunity for tech industry to grow further? Today, on International Women’s Day, Lepaya together with Equals Amsterdam want to showcase the (already existing but yet not enough) strength and the diversity in the tech world. 62 women from 44 different companies, from Deloitte, Adyen and KLM to HelloFresh and IKEA, joined us in our scope and have been featured on 55 billboards (known as ‘pepperbussen’) in and around the city of Amsterdam.
For the 2022 International women’s day Equals campaign we chose to put Sara Shehata, Mobile developer at Lepaya, in the spotlight. Sara was interviewed by Equals Amsterdam about her role and her influence within the tech team.
“I think it’s the case of all the developers I guess having the skills of problem solving and analyze things, it gets reflected in our life.” Sara Shehata

We believe that with the right skills, everyone can be successful in any role
Sometimes, all it takes to follow one’s dreams is just a little nudge. To inspire all professionals to follow their dreams – and not be limited by traditional beliefs or patterns – there’s a need for strong role models who showcase what is possible. At Lepaya, we are proud of our diverse team. However, we are fully aware that continued focus is required to enhance diversity – especially while we continue to grow. As such, we are truly excited to showcase our story. We are proud that women are already well represented in our technology & product teams, and love to tell our stories of our successful tech colleagues, showing what it is like to work in tech as a woman, and inspire female job seekers to apply for a role in tech.
We are super excited to participate in this important campaign about gender equality! That is why Sara won’t be our only Lepayaan in the spotlight, during the entire month of March we will shine a light on other talented colleagues. Don’t miss them and follow us on LinkedIn or Instagram.
